Civil case against Mystikal moves ahead after rapper receives 20-year rape sentence

1 min read

A woman who has accused rapper Mystikal of rape is keeping her civil claim alive against him, even though he has already admitted guilt in the linked criminal matter and received a 20-year jail term.

Court filings state that she went to Mystikal's residence in Prairieville, Louisiana, in July 2022. She says the meeting started without incident but grew violent after the artist accused her of taking money from him.

In her suit, she alleges Mystikal beat her, including punches and choking that left her with several injuries. She also says he made her strip, spat on her face, poured rubbing alcohol on her, and menaced her with scissors.

The woman further alleges that Mystikal told her to kneel down and pray with him before he sexually attacked her. She maintains she was too afraid to fight back and that he raped her both vaginally and anally.

The filing says Mystikal afterwards made her hunt through his house for the money he claimed was missing and pressured her to transfer $150 to him through a payment application.

She reports suffering bodily harm, psychological trauma, and missed work because of what happened. Her civil action is still before the courts.

On the criminal side, Mystikal entered a guilty plea to third-degree rape and was sentenced to 20 years behind bars. The civil suit is seeking compensation tied to the alleged assault and what followed.
