Zandre Roye, Jamaica's newly crowned National Amateur Champion, staged a late surge to take top honours at the 2026 Caribbean Amateur Golf Championship (CAGC) Trials, played at Half Moon Golf Course.
He began the final round tied for eighth and three strokes behind the leader, yet produced the strongest single-day score of the competition when it counted most. Roye signed for a one-over-par 73 on day three, bringing his three-round total to 230.
That closing effort left him one shot clear of veteran Owen Samuda and reigning Jamaica Open Amateur champion Trey Williams, who shared second place.
Mark Newnham and Camden Purboo were tied for fourth on matching totals of 232, while Oshae Haye completed the leading group in sixth on 233.
Roye's final-day charge capped a notable tournament and reinforced his place among the country's foremost amateur golfers.
