Economist says Government’s phased approached to PPV fare adjustment a practical solution
As commuters pay more for fares this morning, Economist Keenan Falconer says the Government’s phased implementation of the increase is practical.
PPV operators got an 8 per cent increase effective yesterday, with another eight per cent to be implemented on July 1.
This implementation is the second phase of a fare increase which first began in 2023.
Speaking with IRIE FM News, Mr. Falconer said he understands the Government’s move to balance the need to keep the public transport sector viable, with being fiscally responsible.
