Injury forces Alcaraz out of Wimbledon

Carlos Alcaraz will miss this year’s Wimbledon Championships after failing to recover in time from a wrist injury.
The world number two injured his right wrist during the opening round of the Barcelona Open and has since been sidelined from several major events, including the French Open, where he was aiming for another title run.
Alcaraz says his recovery is progressing well, but not quickly enough for a return to grass court action. The Spaniard was hoping to defend his crown after reaching consecutive Wimbledon finals, including last year’s showdown against rival Jannik Sinner.
