KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaican men's 4x100m relay squad sealed qualification for next year's World Athletics Championships in Beijing, China, after taking victory in their second qualifying heat on the closing day of the Debswana World Athletics Relays in Gaborone, Botswana, on Sunday. The quartet stopped the clock at 38.14 seconds.
Fielding the same line-up — Rohan Watson, Odaine McPherson, Adrian Kerr and Rasheed Foster — Jamaica had fallen short during Saturday's opening qualifying round, placing fourth in a time of 38.08 seconds.
On Sunday, however, the team came back stronger and edged out Belgium, who set a national record of 38.40 seconds and likewise punched their ticket to Beijing. Nigeria rounded out the heat in third with a clocking of 38.50 seconds.
