JAPEX 2026 heads to Ocho Rios

A bold new chapter for Jamaica’s premier Travel Trade Show
Jamaica’s premier travel trade event, Jamaica Product Exchange (JAPEX), is set to usher in an exciting new era in 2026 as it moves to the vibrant resort destination of Ocho Rios. Scheduled for September 14–17, 2026, the event will be hosted at the Moon Palace Jamaica, marking a highly anticipated return to Ocho Rios after more than a decade.
After many successful years in Montego Bay, this return signals more than a change of venue; it represents an ongoing evolution of the JAPEX experience. Known as one of the Caribbean’s most iconic and celebrated travel trade shows, JAPEX continues to serve as a critical platform for connecting Jamaica’s tourism suppliers with international buyers, driving business, partnerships, and sustained industry growth.

This year’s staging introduces a fresh and compelling backdrop, offering delegates new opportunities to explore and experience another dimension of Jamaica’s dynamic tourism product. With its blend of natural beauty, cultural vibrancy, and expanding hospitality offerings, Ocho Rios provides an ideal setting for meaningful engagement and discovery.
President of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association, Christopher Jarrett, described the move as a forward-thinking step for the industry:
“JAPEX has always been about positioning Jamaica at the forefront of global tourism, and this transition to Ocho Rios reflects our commitment to innovation and growth. By introducing a new destination, we are expanding how we showcase Jamaica—creating fresh opportunities for engagement, deeper partnerships, and a more dynamic experience for our stakeholders.”
Chair of the JAPEX Planning Committee and JHTA Past President, Nicola Madden-Greig, emphasised the significance of the new location:
“Ocho Rios offers an exciting and immersive environment that aligns perfectly with the JAPEX experience. From its natural attractions to its growing portfolio of world-class properties, this destination provides the ideal setting for meaningful connections and impactful business exchange. JAPEX 2026 will deliver not only strong commercial outcomes, but a renewed sense of discovery for all who attend.”

JAPEX 2026 will feature its signature marketplace meetings, alongside the highly anticipated Opening Travel Trade Forum, which will deliver key destination updates and strategic insights shaping the future of tourism in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean.
Welcoming the event to the region, Vana Taylor, highlighted the opportunity to showcase the destination:
“We are truly excited to welcome JAPEX back to Ocho Rios. This destination is rich with experiences, culture, and hospitality, and we are ready to showcase all that makes this side of Jamaica so special. Hosting JAPEX here is an opportunity not just for business, but for an authentic connection to the place.”
With renewed energy, a fresh destination, and a continued focus on driving tourism growth, JAPEX 2026 promises to deliver a powerful and engaging experience for all participants.
