Woman Fatally Shot During Reported Struggle Over Licensed Firearm in St Elizabeth

Woman Fatally Shot During in St Elizabeth: Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman in the Hill Top district of Parottee, St Elizabeth, on Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Anishka Thompson of New Forest, Manchester.

According to police reports, at about 8:30 a.m., Thompson was at a house with her boyfriend when the incident occurred.

Investigators say the boyfriend told them he was preparing to leave for work when he removed his licensed firearm from a safe and placed it on a table.

He reportedly stated that while he was loading the weapon, Thompson playfully picked up the firearm. He further alleged that while attempting to retrieve it from her, a loud explosion was heard.

Thompson sustained a gunshot wound and was rushed to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
