Westmoreland teen charged after gun allegedly shown during community dispute
A 19-year-old from Westmoreland has been placed before the courts after police say he brandished a gun during a dispute in his community and left the area.
Shaderoe White, of Shrewsbury in Petersfield, is charged with possession of a firearm in a public place and assault at common law.
According to the Savanna-la-Mar Police, White and another man got into an argument in the community around 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21. Officers say that during the exchange, White lifted his shirt, exposed a firearm in his waistband, and threatened the other man before running off.
A report was lodged with the police, and White was taken into custody on Thursday, April 24 during a targeted operation. He was charged after investigators recorded a statement from him.
Authorities said his court date is still being finalised.
