Heart College Welding Student Nathan White Highlights Programme Support and Trade Prospects

Nathan White, a Level 7 welding student at the Heart College of Construction Services, says the programme has offered him more than he expected when he enrolled — both in what he has learned and in the prospects it opens up.

White said what stands out most about the course is the range of opportunity it creates, together with a learning environment where people are willing to help and push students toward their dreams and goals. His experience so far, he said, has been "quite interesting." He has picked up skills and knowledge he did not anticipate before starting, and he described the overall journey as very worthwhile.

The moment that stays with him most came during his first welding session — his inaugural attempt at drawing a bead. He went in with an open mind, but the work did not turn out as he had hoped. His instructor then pulled him aside, corrected his approach, and showed him how to do it properly. That hands-on guidance, he said, is something he will always remember.

For anyone thinking about gaining a marketable skill, White was direct in his advice. "Welding is the way to go," he said, adding that there are endless opportunities in the field for learners who are smart about where they train. For him, the choice was clear: choose Heart.
