Quarry Hill Teen and Sherman Wright Charged in Spanish Town Killing of Bingy Anderson
Two Quarry Hill, St Catherine residents — a 35-year-old man and a teenage boy — are now before the courts over the death of 18-year-old construction worker Miguel "Bingy" Anderson, who was shot at a shop in the community on June 13.
Sherman Wright and the juvenile male, both of Quarry Hill, have been charged with murder, shooting with intent, malicious destruction of property, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and using a firearm to commit a felony.
Spanish Town Police report that Anderson was at a shop in the area around 8 p.m. on June 13 when armed men attacked him. Investigators say the gunmen fired shots, striking the teenager before leaving the scene.
Officers were notified and Anderson was taken to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
After further inquiries, Wright and the teen are said to have surrendered to police and were then charged. Their court dates have not yet been set.
