Guardsman Group plants trees and beautify’s Clan Carthy Primary School on Labour Day

Team members of the Guardsman Group came out on Labour Day to help beautify and plant palm trees at the Clan Carthy Primary School in Kingston.
This was a collective effort from Metaverse, Nature’s Paradise, Beryllium and the Guardsma Group, arms of the leading security company in both Jamaica and the Caribbean.
It is said a man should do three things in his life, namely: have a son, write a book and plant a tree.

The Guardsman team certainly planted plenty of trees.
It was a wonderful day with the team committed to the task at hand, while taking pleasure in helping out.
“Aunty Mel” from Nature’s Paradise steered us all in the right direction, and her expertise was invaluable. Everybody lent a hand and felt proud of what was accomplished.

It felt good to make a contribution on Labour Day and to do something positive for others.
After the day’s work and a satisfying meal at Clan Carthy Primary School, Guardsman Group’s Managing Director David Whittaker shared with Our Today, “ It is our pleasure to be giving back to Clan Carthy Primary School. We have, in some ways, adopted Clan Carthy Primary School. For the last five years, we have been visiting the school, giving back in terms of initiatives like “Read Across Jamaica Day”. This is our first Labour Day project here, and we want it to continue.. This encapsulates the vision of the Guardsman Group- giving back, sharing, being a good corporate citizen, taking our social responsibility seriously. We are dedicated to giving back to the wider community.

“We are proud of the work being done by the Guardsman Foundation. It’s the vehicle we use to give back to the wider community.
Chevan Cooper, who joined the Guardsman Group only two weeks ago saw it fit to come out on Labour Day and help plant trees and do some work around the Clan Carthy Primary School compound with his colleagues.

David Whittaker continued: “We are grateful to Nature’s Paradise for donating all the palm trees. They were gracious and helpful when we informed them that we would be committing to Clan Carthy Primary School on this Labour Day project. They not only donated the palm trees but also gave their labour. “Aunty Mel” is the resident pro of Nature’s Paradise, and every single client of Nature’s Paradise knows her and has gone above and beyond to see to it that she is part of the job.”
Mrs Winsome Reid has been Principal of Clan Carthy Primary School for five years now and is very dedicated to her school. She expressed her gratitude to the Guardsman Group for coming out on Labour Day and helping beutify the grounds.

“Anything we can do to enhance the development of the children is a step in the right direction because we focus on the holistic side. Development is not just confined to the classroom. Enhancing the environment goes a long way. We don’t concentrate solely on beautifying the classroom. Learning doesn’t take place within the four walls of the classroom; learning also takes place outside the classroom, so for us to beautify and enhance the environment speaks volumes.

“We are very grateful to the Guardsman Group for partnering with us to help beautify the grounds of our school. We are very appreciative of the work that was done here today. I know its part of Guardsman’s social responsibility but it really helps us as an institution that we can do what we would be unable to do without Guardsman,” said Principal Winsome Reid.
