U20 Reggae Girlz take Jewels of Caribbean title with 2-1 final win in Trinidad

The Jamaica Football Federation has saluted the U20 Reggae Girlz after they lifted the Jewels of the Caribbean Women’s U20 tournament in Trinidad and Tobago on Friday.
Jamaica closed out the competition with a 2-1 victory over the Trinidad and Tobago Red Angels in the final. Alyssa Stephenson and Tiny Seaton scored the goals that settled the match.
The win was Jamaica’s fourth straight at the tournament. Across five matches, the side finished with 15 goals.
Their path through the event included a 1-1 draw with St. Vincent and the Grenadines, a 7-0 win over Dominica, a 4-0 defeat of the Trinidad and Tobago White Angels, and a 1-0 win over the Red Angels before the rematch in the final.
The president of the Jamaica Football Federation praised the team for the achievement. “It truly is a wonderful way to end 2024, our U14 Boyz won a trophy in Trinidad and Tobago and now our U20 Girlz finish the calendar year with a trophy. I would like to send a special commendation to the entire team and the coaching staff for this feat. On the pitch in 2024, we accomplished quite a lot and we are certainly elated to add another trophy to our cabinet. This will certainly bode well for our U20 Girlz who commence the CONCACAF U20 Qualifiers next year.”
The U20 Reggae Girlz are set to open CONCACAF U20 Qualifiers in February 2025 in Nicaragua. Jamaica are in Group D with Nicaragua, St. Kitts and Nevis, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The group winner will move on to the final round of the CONCACAF U20 Qualifiers.
