Woman charged in relation death of her four-month old baby in Rockfort last month

A woman has been charged in relation to the death of her four-month-old baby in Rockfort, East Kingston last month.
Charged with infanticide is 32-year-old Moya Shaw.
It stems from the death of Juda Shaw on April 18.
Reports are that at around 9:00 P.M., Mrs. Shaw who is a mother of six, allegedly threw the infant on the ground resulting in the child sustaining head injuries.
Further reports are that she wrapped the baby in a towel and left the house with another child.
Missing person reports were filed and the following day residents alerted the police after Mrs. Shaw was allegedly seen attempting to harm a small child along Orange Street.
The police rescued the child and brought both to the Admiral Town Police Station; however Mrs. Shaw fled.
She was later located in the St. Andrew Central area.
Mrs. Shaw was taken into custody and interviewed.
Police say she was charged after giving a confession statement.
She is to appear before the St. Andrew Parish Court on June 1.
