Arianne James reaches J30 Kingston quarterfinals after three-set win
Arianne James is the sole Jamaican through to the quarterfinals of the J30 Kingston Tennis Tournament at the Eric Bell Tennis Center, after defeating American Emily Stoyan in three sets.
Seeded third for the event, James took the opening set 6-2. Stoyan responded in the second, winning 6-4 to level the match. James then closed out the decider in emphatic style, 6-1.
She next faces American Brinley Lane.
In doubles, James and Bahamian partner Breana Holmgrane fell 6-4, 6-2 to Americans Victoria Park and Sofia Osipova.
