Beenie Man’s Summa Sizzle 2026 to channel festival proceeds to Kingston Public Hospital

Kingston Public Hospital stands to receive support from Beenie Man’s Summa Sizzle Music Festival 2026, scheduled for August 15 at the Woodleigh Sports Complex in Clarendon. Festival organisers have pledged to hand over a portion of the earnings to the hospital so it can address urgent requirements and strengthen the care it delivers.

The arrangement arrives while the 250-year-old institution confronts several operational difficulties. In recent weeks KPH has faced successive setbacks, among them shortages of stationery and linen, deteriorating plant and buildings, and the temporary shutdown of two operating theatres after the central air-conditioning system failed, prompting the postponement of elective surgeries. Those disruptions intensified strain on the country’s oldest public hospital, leaving many patients in uneasy limbo as emergency repairs and other remedial work proceeded.

Acting chief executive officer Dwayne Francis praised the tie-up with Beenie Man and the Summa Sizzle team, casting it as proof that the entertainment sector and community goodwill can bolster healthcare.

“We are truly grateful to Beenie Man and the organisers of Summa Sizzle for selecting KPH as the beneficiary of this year’s festival,” Francis said. He added: “This generous partnership demonstrates the power of entertainment and community coming together to support healthcare. Every contribution will assist us in enhancing the care and services we provide to the thousands of patients who depend on KPH daily.”

Hospital administrators are urging Jamaicans to attend, noting that ticket buyers will enjoy top-tier entertainment while also helping to lift standards of care for the many patients who rely on KPH.
