Dr. Barry Wint Scholarship recipient Chazae Morgan says the funding she received at a scholarship awards ceremony will help her continue her studies in surgery and take some of the pressure off an expensive academic path. Her remarks came as she reflected on personal loss and on the future she is working toward through further education.

During the exchange, condolences were offered to Morgan over the deaths of her grandfather and her younger cousin. She was told they would likely be proud of how far she has come. The discussion then shifted to the scholarship itself and what the support will mean for her at this stage of her journey.

Morgan said she was "over the moon" about receiving the assistance and described it as an amazing opportunity. She said the award gives her a chance to further her education at a time when study in surgery carries major costs and comes with a demanding road ahead. She also made clear that the process is not straightforward, describing it as both rocky and challenging.

According to Morgan, the financial support will ease a significant share of the stress that comes with continuing along that route. She said that relief matters because it will allow her to keep her attention on what she sees as the main priority: doing well as she moves through the next phase of her education and training.

Morgan said her long-term goal is to return that effort in a meaningful way by helping the people of Jamaica. Her comments placed the scholarship not only as financial backing, but as support that can help her stay focused while pursuing a difficult field of study and preparing for the work she hopes to do in the country.
