CMU Says Alleged Fraud Found Through Internal Monitoring
The Caribbean Maritime University says an alleged fraud matter was identified through the institution's internal monitoring procedures, according to a statement issued this afternoon.
The university said it has given full cooperation to the police as investigators examine the matter.
CMU President Professor Andrew Spencer said the case shows that the university's governance and oversight arrangements are working as intended. He said those systems are built to detect concerns and ensure they are handled through the proper channels.
