Constant Spring Plant to Begin Water Rationing July 3 as Hermitage Dam Inflows Fall
The National Water Commission has announced that rationing will take effect from July 3 at the Constant Spring Water Treatment Facility, citing falling inflows into the Hermitage Dam during the extended dry spell.
Figures released by the utility show the dam holding 65.4 per cent of its 393.5-million-gallon storage capacity, underscoring the pressure on the reservoir as rainfall remains scarce.
Under the revised timetable, certain neighbourhoods will be served during daylight hours, while others will draw supply through the night.
The NWC is calling on customers to keep containers filled whenever water reaches their taps and to conserve usage while the restrictions remain in force.
