Twenty-six-year-old Nicholas Robinson, who goes by the name 'Nick,' has been charged after a community dispute on Tuesday, June 23 left a man shot and injured. Robinson, a construction worker from Espeut Avenue in Kingston 11, is now before the courts in connection with the incident.

Hunts Bay Police said the trouble began around 4:30 a.m., when an argument broke out between a man and one of his relatives. The disagreement quickly escalated into a physical fight.

During the clash, the relative is accused of using a firearm to shoot the man. The injured party was taken to hospital, where he received treatment and was admitted in serious but stable condition.

The shooting was later reported to the police. Detectives said statements collected during their investigation indicate Robinson provided the gun that the relative used against the complainant.

Robinson was arrested and questioned with his attorney present. He was then charged with Wounding with Intent, Possession of Prohibited Weapon, Unauthorised Possession of Ammunition, Using a Firearm to Commit Felony, and Conspiracy to Wounding with Intent.

Authorities are still finalising his court date.
