Opposition blasts staged PPV fare hike announced by Daryl Vaz
The Opposition has criticised the PPV fare rise announced today by Transport Minister Daryl Vaz, saying the two-stage rollout is improper and disrespectful to commuters.
Mikael Phillips, the Opposition spokesman on transport, said the Government was using gimmicks to decide public passenger fares and had again exposed the lack of a clear transport policy. Phillips said that, without such a policy, the administration appeared to be making decisions as it went along. He said he would seek legal guidance on what he views as an unusual method of implementation.
