Jamaica’s fastest-growing sport will take centre stage for a greater cause when the Rotary Club of Kingston and the Rotary Club of St. Andrew host the Rotary Charity Pickleball Tournament on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Pickle & Chill.

The tournament is not just a sporting event; it is a collaborative fundraising initiative aimed at transforming lives. By combining friendly competition with meaningful community service, the event will unite Rotarians, corporate Jamaica, athletes, recreational pickleball enthusiasts, and community partners. Together, they will support projects that create a lasting impact across the island.

Proceeds from the tournament will directly support the installation of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in a public space, strengthening emergency response capabilities and potentially saving lives. Funds will also assist the Home for the Homeless Initiative, implemented through Food For The Poor, providing much-needed support to underserved children and families while contributing to safer, more dignified living conditions. These initiatives build on both Clubs’ longstanding commitment to health, education, community resilience and humanitarian service.

The Rotary Charity Pickleball Tournament is a collaborative initiative conceived during the 2025–2026 Rotary year by the Rotary Club of Kingston and the Rotary Club of St. Andrew. As the project comes to fruition, it reflects the enduring partnership between both Clubs and their shared commitment to creating meaningful community impact through service.

Both Rotary Clubs have a proud history of delivering impactful service projects throughout Jamaica.

During the 2025/2026 Rotary year, the Rotary Club of Kingston undertook several initiatives, including the renovation of the Early Childhood Classroom at the Salvation Army School for the Blind. They also installed Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and provided CPR training at two schools. Additionally, the club participated in disaster relief and recovery efforts following Hurricane Melissa, improved water security at Lister Mair Gilby High School for the Deaf, supported the Home for the Homeless housing program in partnership with Food For The Poor, and carried out rehabilitation work at Thornton Primary School.

Meanwhile, the Rotary Club of St. Andrew focused on enhancing literacy through its Read to Lead Literacy Project at Allman Town Primary School and the Boys’ Town Youth Club Mentorship Programme. The construction of the Boys’ Town Resource Library is currently underway, and the club has also contributed to recovery efforts for Hurricane Melissa in Westmoreland and Montego Bay. Additionally, the club is involved in various community development activities, such as providing CPR training, donating wheelchairs, participating in community painting projects, and organising book drives to benefit schools throughout Jamaica.

Together, these projects have improved health outcomes, strengthened educational opportunities, enhanced community resilience and restored dignity for hundreds of Jamaicans.

Participants of all skill levels—ranging from experienced competitors to first-time recreational players—are encouraged to register and join an afternoon and evening filled with exciting matches, networking, and camaraderie, all while supporting causes that will benefit communities long after the final point is played.

As Rotary International continues to promote the principle of “Service Above Self,” this collaborative initiative demonstrates how sports can be a powerful catalyst for healthier communities, stronger partnerships, and lasting social impact.

The tournament is proudly supported by the following sponsors: DCM Media, PwC, Ernst & Young, The Hot Box, Ashley Furniture HomeStore, Unity Personal Training & Fitness Studio, Toyota Jamaica, Kia Motors, Sterling Asset Management, Allied Insurance Brokers, First Global Bank, Rehab Oasis, Particular Presence, Sauced by 2 Yutes, Power Play, Intranet Solutions, Subway, Bun Bun Bakery, Armex Pro, Subway and Excelsior.
