Teshay Makeda has shared an acoustic performance of MOVEiN as part of the DEADLY UK Series, a track that treats dance, rhythm and bodily movement as a path to healing and release.

In the performance, Makeda sings of a body that is moving and grooving again, rocking to the rhythm and skanking to the pace. She calls on spirit and energy, urging listeners who feel cut off from their own rhythm and flow to dance the shadow out of the body and feel what she describes as rainbow healing as that energy grows.

The song’s refrain returns to the same physical and spiritual charge: hiking through the bass, skanking to the baseline, and refusing to be defined by appearance. She frames the motion as clearing — knowing where she comes from even when others cannot see it.

Makeda roots that identity in the islands of the west, with Africa as her roots across the seven seas. She places her story in a longer continuum, saying her people have been in the game for centuries and drawing that line back through ancestry.

Later passages push the theme further, casting the call to move the body as medicine, aligning, healing, feeling, vibration and liberation. The acoustic reading keeps those ideas close to the vocal and the groove, presenting MOVEiN less as a party chant than as a statement about rhythm as restoration and freedom.
