Dean Dawson Denies Knowing Glendon ‘Bull’ Amos Was Wanted By Police

Dean Dawson, a St Catherine man accused of giving shelter to Glendon “Bull” Amos, one of the parish’s listed “Most Wanted” men, told the court on Monday that he did not know Amos was being sought by investigators when both men were detained last year.

Dawson, who is before the St Catherine Parish Court on a charge of harbouring a fugitive, gave sworn evidence on June 1, 2026, and denied knowingly helping Amos avoid the police. He told the court he had been working several jobs in an effort to take care of his household. “I am a security guard, I also do charter to feed my family and even scrape concrete from trucks for a living and to provide for my family,” he testified.

The Clerk of Court, however, pressed Dawson on his account, noting that when he previously gave evidence on March 23, 2026, he had described himself as a farmer. Dawson said his wages from security work were not enough, so he had to earn money from different types of work.

Questions were also put to him about his alleged link to Amos. The Clerk of Court reminded Dawson that, in earlier testimony, he was said to have answered “A date mi hear” when police asked whether he knew Amos was wanted. Dawson rejected that, saying he never made the remark and only found out Amos was a fugitive after the police told him following their arrest. “All that I said was the truth,” he told the court.

Under re-examination, defence attorney Teddison May Jackson asked Dawson what he meant when he said he did “everything” to support his family. He answered: “I mean that I do farming, construction, security and other jobs to care for my family.”

The charge arose from a January 29, 2025 incident in which members of the Joint Anti-Gang Task Force allegedly encountered Dawson and Amos in the same vehicle in Moneague, St Ann. Dawson said he was using the vehicle for charter work at the time. Investigators said Amos was wanted in connection with multiple offences, including murder, when he was captured. Dawson is due to hear the outcome of the matter when the case resumes on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
