KINGSTON, Jamaica - Dancehall recording artiste Dovey Magnum is moving into the summer with new music, starting with her single "Be Patient", which opens a planned run of releases expected over the next few months.
The song was produced by Nigel Angus of Palm Tree Flow Records and highlights the artiste's melodic approach and writing ability. Dovey Magnum said the record forms part of a wider batch of material she has been holding for supporters. "I don't just sing on a beat I dominate it because I genuinely love music. I have so many new songs to drop but I am just pacing myself. Like the title of my new song says, Be Patient," Dovey Magnum stated.
Dovey Magnum, whose given name is Simsky Harrison, is from Spanish Town. She became widely known in 2017 when "Bawl Out" broke through and helped place her in the dancehall conversation in Jamaica and overseas.
She later released several other singles, among them "Prayer Me A Use And Win", "Sex Slave" and "Female Shella". Now in 2026, the artiste said her drive has not faded since her first major rise. "Di game change up in many ways but one thing still remains. Bad a artiste a bad artiste and Dovey Magnum a bad artiste suh I care zero about what is happening or who is happening because me sure my space secured. My love for music is just as strong as it was when I just started," she stated.
Dovey Magnum is now preparing the release of "Be Patient" while continuing to work with Palm Tree Flow Records' Nigel Angus and publicist Karl Durrant.
