Westmoreland Motorcycle Crash Leaves Teen Dead After Collision With Cow

Westmoreland, Jamaica: Westmoreland Motorcycle Crash –  An 18-year-old man was killed and a teenage boy seriously injured in a tragic motorcycle crash along the Petersfield main road on Wednesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Finardo Whitelocke, of Logwood district in Whithorn, Westmoreland.

Police reports indicate that about 11:30 p.m., Whitelocke was travelling on a motorcycle towards Savanna-la-Mar with a 16-year-old male riding as a pillion passenger when a cow reportedly entered the roadway near Petersfield Primary School.

Investigators say the motorcycle slammed into the animal, causing both teenagers to be thrown from the bike during the impact.

The injured teens were rushed to the Savanna-la-Mar Public General Hospital, where doctors pronounced Whitelocke dead.

The 16-year-old reportedly suffered a broken right leg and remains admitted in hospital receiving treatment.

Authorities investigating the crash also disclosed that neither rider was wearing a protective helmet at the time of the collision.
