Guardsman blast survivor Fabian Brown flown to Atlanta for burn care

Fabian Brown has become the third person injured in the Guardsman Group of Companies explosion to be flown from Jamaica for specialist care, with treatment arranged in Atlanta, Georgia.
Two other victims were also transported by air on Thursday for medical attention. Brown, whose burns covered 60 per cent of his body, was among four people left with severe injuries after the blast.
The company said in a Thursday statement that another injured man had died. He was identified only as an outside contractor who had been working in the garage.
Brown’s wife, Myesha, travelled with him and commended Guardsman for its handling of the situation. “I was impressed at how fast they responded, how they turned up, showed up. They had persons on the ground even while he was in the hospital. They had persons on the ground getting the stuff he needed, and I am very, very appreciative of that,” she told Radio Jamaica News.
