Fraziers Whip and Arnett Gardens set for Jamaica Women's Premier League final
Fraziers Whip and Arnett Gardens will meet on Saturday in the Jamaica Women's Premier League final at Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex, renewing the matchup from the 2024 title game.
Fraziers Whip enter as three-time defending champions and are seeking a fourth straight league crown. In last year's final, they overwhelmed Arnett Gardens 9-0, a result Arnett will be aiming to answer in this season's championship match.
Arnett are also the last team to beat Fraziers Whip, having recorded a 1-0 win in the opening match of the 2023-2024 campaign. Since then, Fraziers Whip have lost only once across three seasons.
Both clubs reached the final with strong semi-final performances. Fraziers Whip advanced 6-1 on aggregate against Real Mona, winning the first leg 5-0 before a 1-1 result in the return match. Arnett Gardens eliminated Los Perfectos 8-3 overall, after semi-final scores of 3-2 and 5-1.
The finalists have matched each other in season results, each winning 11 games and drawing once from 12 outings. Fraziers Whip hold the stronger goal profile, scoring 68 times and allowing six, while Arnett have scored 46 goals and conceded seven.
Christina Salmon leads both Fraziers Whip and the league with 24 goals. She has been backed by Chanel Spence, who has 18, and captain Neville Gale Able, who has scored 13. For Arnett Gardens, Shakira Douglas has 21 goals, while captain Tiana Shay Hamilton has added seven.
The coaching contest also carries a link between the clubs, with Fraziers Whip coach Courtney Duncley and Arnett Gardens coach Garnet Lawrence both having served on the Arnett Gardens senior men's coaching staff during the 2024-2025 season.
Arnett Gardens are seeking their first Jamaica Women's Premier League title. Kick-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
