A worker who was severely burned in an explosion in Kingston in late May has died in the United States. Damian Walters, 43, passed away on Monday at a burn centre in Augusta, Georgia, where he had been receiving treatment for his injuries.
Mr. Walters, a serviceman with the Guardsman Group of Companies, was one of three men who suffered third-degree burns in the blast, which occurred on May 27 at a garage next to the Beryllium compound on South Camp Road.
A fourth man died in the immediate aftermath of the incident. The remaining three injured workers, including Mr. Walters, were flown to the United States so they could be treated for their wounds.
