JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation brings joy and inclusion to Salvation Army Children’s Day celebration

The JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the JMMB Group, recently partnered with the Salvation Army School for the Blind to support its Annual Children’s Day celebration, creating a memorable and inclusive experience for approximately 120 students and 80 members of staff at the school’s Kingston location.
The event, one of the most highly anticipated on the school’s calendar, is dedicated to celebrating children who navigate daily life with resilience and courage, offering them a day filled with fun, laughter and meaningful engagement. Through its sponsorship, the Foundation helped to enhance the experience by providing refreshments, including popcorn and snow cones, adding to the festive atmosphere and ensuring that every child could fully enjoy the day’s activities.

The celebration featured a range of accessible games, rides and interactive experiences, thoughtfully designed to cater to visually impaired students, creating a safe and joyful environment where they could participate freely and confidently alongside their peers. The event also provided an opportunity for community connection, reinforcing the message that every child is valued, supported and celebrated.
Kim Mair, CEO of the JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation, underscored the importance of initiatives that centre inclusion and wellbeing. “At the Foundation, we believe every child deserves to feel seen, valued and included,” she shared. “Supporting initiatives like this reminds our children that they are not defined by limitations, but by their potential. Creating spaces where they can experience joy, connection and a sense of belonging is essential to their development and confidence.”
The Foundation’s support forms part of its broader commitment to enriching communities and empowering Jamaica’s youth through meaningful partnerships and experiences that promote dignity, inclusion and opportunity.
Through initiatives such as this, the JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation continues to play an active role in uplifting vulnerable groups, ensuring that no child is left out of moments that celebrate childhood, possibility and hope.
