Roar Unleashed Plans Kingston Workshop On Mental Wellness And Burnout Prevention

Roar Unleashed is marking Mental Health Awareness Month in May with its flagship mental wellness session, “High Functioning But Overwhelmed: A Guide to Interrupting Overwhelm and Regaining Control.” The event is set for Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at JAMPRO, 18 Trafalgar Road, Kingston.
The workshop is aimed at people who may seem organised, productive and steady on the outside while privately dealing with stress, overthinking, emotional strain and mental tiredness. Organisers say modern life often praises quick action, urgency and instant replies, but moving constantly without making room to stop can affect judgement, relationships, emotional balance, work output and general wellness.
With public discussion about mental health continuing to build, particularly during Mental Health Awareness Month, the session is intended to give participants time to slow down, examine what they are carrying and pick up practical ways to handle overwhelm before it develops into burnout.
Participants are expected to learn how to disrupt patterns of overthinking and mental spiralling, build stronger emotional control when under pressure, improve clarity in stressful situations and use pause techniques right away. The facilitators will be Sosheina Whyte, Associate Counselling Psychologist; Jonathan Ross, Physiotherapist; and Rashiem Shepherd, Creative Educator.
