Guardsman worker Damion Walters dies after South Camp Road blast burns

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A Guardsman Group of Companies staff member has died from burns suffered in a May incident on South Camp Road.

Damion Walters, 43, received third-degree burns in the fire and died on Monday while being treated at the Burn Centre in Georgia, United States.

He was one of three men left with third-degree burns after an explosion at a garage beside the Guardsman Group-Beryllium Limited headquarters on South Camp Road. The three were flown abroad for further medical care.

A fourth man hurt in the same blast died soon after it occurred.
