Jamaica remittances climb 3.8% to US$3.25 billion in 2025, PIOJ reports
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaicans abroad sent home US$3 247.5 million in remittances during 2025, 3.8 per cent more than in 2024, the Planning Institute of Jamaica reports in the 2025 Economic and Social Survey Jamaica.
The survey links the rise to stronger overall inflows, which grew by US$127.8 million to US$3 485.7 million. Transfers handled through remittance companies accounted for most of that growth, climbing by US$170.7 million to US$3 082.3 million, while the category labelled ‘other remittances’ fell by US$42.9 million to US$403.4 million.
All three of Jamaica’s main remittance corridors posted gains over the review period. The United States remained the leading source at US$2 103.1 million, a 5.4 per cent increase. Flows from the United Kingdom advanced 10.5 per cent to US$352.0 million, and those from Canada rose 3.5 per cent to US$295.1 million.
