Jamaican Michael Foster, 58, was arrested following the fatal shooting of his niece, Julia Anderson, 39, in the Bronx on Tuesday, ABC 7 Eyewitness News reported. Anderson was shot twice in the chest shortly after midnight while sitting in her Jeep on Murdock Avenue in Wakefield. She had completed a 4 p.m.-to-midnight shift and parked opposite the house she shared with Foster. Authorities allege a dispute arose after Foster’s mother, Asilder Foster, died in 2023 and left the family home to Anderson, her eldest granddaughter. Foster faces murder, manslaughter and 10 weapon-possession charges.

In St. James, British national Samantha Cox-George was remanded until July 21 on charges of possessing, dealing in and attempting to export cocaine. Authorities allege that, while preparing to fly to England from Sangster International Airport on July 9, three pounds of suspected cocaine were found inside coffee and cassava-flour packages in her larger suitcase. Attorney Prashana Friggenette told Judge Grant-Price that Cox-George required medical assessment and prescription medication seized with her belongings, and had slept on the floor at Cambridge Police Station. The lawyer said her client has friends in St. Ann.

Fabian Fuller received six months’ imprisonment for unlawful wounding after approaching his child’s mother and her cousin with a knife. The court heard that he blamed the cousin for relationship difficulties, dragged her by the neck, threatened to kill her and cut her neck. Police arrested him after the incident was reported.

Roger Pottinger pleaded guilty to unlawfully wounding a female friend who rejected his sexual demand. The court heard that he arrived at her home intoxicated on June 13, became boisterous and cut her head with a knife. Judge Grant-Price ordered a social inquiry report, extended his bail and scheduled sentencing for October 12.

In a St. Andrew police trial, prosecutor Kathleen Pike questioned an INDECOM officer about his Monday telephone call seeking access to an Acadia Drive apartment. Agriculture Minister Floyd Green reportedly witnessed events there through a bedroom window when Matthew Lee, Ucliff Dyer and Demark Allen were killed during an alleged police shootout on January 12, 2013. Two illegal guns, both reportedly fired, were recovered, while a fourth man allegedly escaped. Current occupants denied further visits over privacy concerns. The officer denied communicating with Pike while testifying and said he called during the day but could not recall the time. Judge Sonya Bertram Linton then allowed the next witness. Sergeant Simoy Moth, Corporal Donovan Fullerton and constables Andrew Smith, Sheldon Richards, Oraldo Rose and Richard Lynch are on trial; Fullerton also faces a charge of making a false statement to INDECOM.
