JCA and UTech Renew Cricket Development Pact at Sabina Park Ceremony

1 min readKingston

The Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) and the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech) have renewed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that has long underpinned efforts to grow cricket across the island.

The pact, first signed in 2010, was refreshed on Sunday during a ceremony held in the President's Box at Sabina Park. Under the renewed arrangement, both bodies will work to strengthen the sport by supporting the education and development of players, coaches, and umpires, with emphasis on a more comprehensive approach to cricket development in Jamaica.

JCA Board Director Anthony Davis spoke to attendees at the signing, stressing how vital the collaboration remains to the continued expansion of the game. UTech President Dr Kevin Brown and JCA President Dr Donovan Bennett were also present and reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining the partnership while widening opportunities for education, research, and high-performance development within Jamaican cricket.

The updated MOU is set to extend more than a decade of joint work as the two institutions continue cooperating to lift standards at every level of the sport.
