JFF Seeks New Reggae Boyz Head Coach After World Cup Qualifying Exit

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Football Federation has begun accepting applications for the head coaching job with the Reggae Boyz, Jamaica’s senior national men’s football side.

The JFF used its social media channels on Thursday to say candidates who meet the requirements may put themselves forward for the post.

The opening follows Jamaica’s failed push to reach the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Steve McClaren, who had been in charge of the team, stepped down in November 2025 after that qualifying bid ended.

Rudolph Speid was later placed in the role on an interim basis. In March, JFF President Michael Ricketts told the Jamaica Observer that Speid and assistant coach Miguel Coley had made a strong impression during four months in charge, and that he was keen on keeping both men beyond the short-term arrangement.

Applications for the position are to be submitted no later than June 30, 2026.
