Kingston Families Press JUTC to Add Summer Buses on Route 610 to Ocho Rios

Families in Kingston are asking the Jamaica Urban Transit Company to put more buses on the Kingston to Ocho Rios corridor while the summer holiday is under way. Guardians say they need dependable transport to keep children occupied and active during the long break from school.

Route 610, which uses the toll road and runs every day, has become a favoured option for commuters who want a lower-cost trip than standard route taxis and buses.

Even so, passengers complain that the JUTC vehicles serving the line are routinely overcrowded.

One parent said unusually high temperatures lately only add to the discomfort aboard the packed buses.
