Four employees of the Guardsman Group are expected to be airlifted from Jamaica after sustaining serious burn injuries in an explosion at the company’s corporate office on South Camp Road in St. Andrew on Wednesday morning.

The blast reportedly occurred sometime before 9:00 a.m. CVM News said it understands that all four injured workers are men.

Early information indicates that welding was being done on one of the security company’s armoured trucks shortly before the explosion. The cause of the incident has not yet been confirmed.

The impact also damaged vehicles on the property. Three vehicles on the compound were extensively damaged, while another sustained minor damage.

CVM News said it contacted the company for a response, but Guardsman had not provided details on the matter at the time of the report.
