1 min readKingston

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Police have charged a 25-year-old taxi operator with robbery with aggravation, possession of a prohibited weapon, and assault at common law over a hold-up at a bar in the parish on Sunday, July 19.

The accused is Odean Kinglock of Lacy district, Stony Hill, St Andrew.

According to reports, at about 11:30 pm Kinglock and others with him — all masked — approached customers at the bar, aimed a firearm at them, took their property, and ran away on foot.

The attack was brought to the attention of the police, who opened an investigation. That probe linked Kinglock to the crime, and he was taken into custody on July 22.

On July 24, after a question-and-answer session held with his lawyer present, he was formally charged with those offences. Arrangements for his court appearance are still being settled.
