Maurice Wright sent to restorative justice after court appearance in child-mother assault case

1 min readKingston

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Maurice Wright appeared Tuesday in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on a charge of assault occasioning bodily harm linked to an alleged clash with the mother of his child. The matter has now been steered into restorative justice.

Presiding Judge Peter Wilson pressed Wright on how he planned to deal with the case. Wright accepted blame for what happened and said anger management remains a problem for him.

Wilson then directed the matter into restorative justice and required Wright to take part. “Make this the last woman you do this to,” Wilson warned.

Wright must next appear before the court on November 11, 2026.
