Morant Bay villa stabbing leaves elderly man hospitalised as two teen girls held

1 min readSt. Thomas

A 64-year-old man remains in hospital and two teenage girls are in police custody after an alleged attempted murder in St Thomas.

Officers in the parish are probing the case, which led to the detention of the females, aged 15 and 14, on suspicion of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and simple larceny.

Reports indicate the complainant is said to have set up a meeting with the underage girls at about 3:00 am on July 5 for a sexual encounter at a villa in Morant Bay.

Investigators allege the teenagers bought duct tape, knives, tarpaulin, and other items ahead of the meeting. The elderly man is said to have collected the pair the night before and driven them to the location.

After renting a room on the premises, the complainant was reportedly attacked while the sexual encounter was taking place. He suffered stab wounds to the face, neck, and back but managed to get out of the room and raise an alarm.

The suspects are alleged to have left the scene in the complainant's motor vehicle.

Police who responded to reports of the incident found the man bleeding. He was taken to hospital and admitted in serious condition.

The two teenage suspects were arrested later that same day. Investigations are continuing.
