Ministry of Health netball team places third at Jamaica Civil Service sports meet 2026
The Ministry of Health and Wellness netball team took third place at the 2026 Jamaica Civil Service Sports Competition, with matches held at National Heroes Park in Kingston.
On the day, the squad faced the Customs side. Officials said the group entered the contest with solid preparation and useful experience across the roster. Training had been intensive in the lead-up, and coaches said the players competed hard throughout.
Despite strong performances from the shooters and midcourt, the health ministry team fell short by a single goal. One team representative said the narrow defeat was difficult to accept, but expressed pride in how the women applied themselves and voiced confidence that the squad would remain competitive through the remainder of the fixture.
In a separate outing the same day, the ministry side recorded a comfortable victory. Coaches gave every player minutes on court and rotated personnel into different positions as part of preparations for the finals. Performance across the board was described as excellent.
The Jamaica Civil Service Sports Competition brings together public-sector teams across disciplines. The MOHW netball unit’s third-place finish caps a campaign marked by tight margins in some matches and dominant displays in others.
