Mobile Munch owner Monet Wilma builds mobile catering brand across Jamaica
Mobile catering operator Monet Wilma is positioning her company, Mobile Munch, as a flexible option for Jamaicans who want distinctive food at gatherings ranging from formal weddings to casual outdoor parties.
Wilma, who launched the business in August 2025, said Mobile Munch is built around bringing flair and variety directly to events. Its current lineup includes a sushi cart that she described as the fan favourite, a charcuterie-style board with cheese, fruit and crackers, and waffle pops. She said the name reflects the model: the service can travel anywhere, and the focus is on food people can enjoy on site.
Menu choices, she explained, were shaped by the type of occasion. Formal events such as weddings tend toward the charcuterie offering, while more laid-back settings suit the waffle pops and sushi cart. She stressed that all items can be customised. "Everything is customizable," Wilma said. "It's just what you want. And we're always willing to be creative and try new ideas."
Wilma said Jamaicans take events seriously and care about customer service, taste and memorable experiences. She believes mobile catering combines those priorities. With more outdoor functions in the summer months, she sees strong demand for services that travel to the venue.
During her appearance, she showcased two slushie flavours: mango drizzle and blueberry drizzle, with virgin options available. Toppings can also be added to the drinks.
Wilma said Mobile Munch's first booking this year was a baby shower and that the team also took part in the Nyam and Yap food village last year. She said several events are lined up for July and that the company still has openings for new bookings. The sushi cart, she added, is especially well suited to summer gatherings.
The operator said she serves clients across Jamaica for birthdays, baby showers, weddings and other functions. Looking ahead five years, she wants Mobile Munch to become a staple name in the local events space, with hosts routinely saying they need the brand at their functions.
