Mount Pleasant FA advance to CFU Club Shield quarterfinals after Antigua side withdraws

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Mount Pleasant FA have been handed a direct path into the quarterfinals of the 2026 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Club Shield. Their scheduled first-round rivals, All Saints United of Antigua and Barbuda, have withdrawn from the competition, which is taking place in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Jamaican club arrives as the reigning Concacaf Caribbean Cup champion and as third-place finishers in the Jamaica Premier League. This marks Mount Pleasant’s debut in the CFU Club Shield.

A place in the CFU Club Shield final brings qualification for the Concacaf Caribbean Cup. There, finalists would sit alongside Jamaica Premier League finalists Portmore United and Cavalier SC.

Mount Pleasant’s last-eight opponent will emerge from Saturday’s meeting between Weymouth Wales of Barbados and SV Britannia of Aruba. That quarterfinal is fixed for Tuesday.
