Supreme Ventures netball divisional finals fill Saturday slate at Leila Robinson Courts

This afternoon, Leila Robinson Courts hosts the closing programme of the Netball Jamaica Supreme Ventures Limited Divisional Leagues, with trophies on the line from the youngest grades through the senior bracket.

First serve is set for 2 p.m., when Excel Eagles B meets Panthers D in the Mini final. The Minor decider follows at 3 p.m. between Spartan and MD Strikers A.

Global B and Untouchable A contest the Intermediate B final at 4 p.m. At 5:15 p.m., Speg A lines up against Titans for the Intermediate A crown.

Major League business starts at 6:15 p.m., when Rockerz A plays Tivoli A for third place. The night’s last assignment, at 7:30 p.m., pits reigning champions Upsetters A against Jamalco for the Major League title.

Karen Rosen-Baugh, president of Netball Jamaica, said she is braced for a showcase of skilled netball across the board.

“Saturday is going to be a very big day for our divisional leagues because it is finals day," said Rosen-Baugh. “We have had over 300 matches at the National Stadium, and it will culminate late on Saturday with five finals and a third-placed playoff, and so it is a very big day for our clubs."

She asked each club’s following to turn out for the deciders. “We definitely want fans of netball and all of the club's supporters to come out and support their teams. We are accustomed to having a very full house on finals day, and so we expect no less, and the weather should be great, and netball should be fantastic," she said.

“The Major League primarily has a lot of national and former national players, and we will be having two matches on Saturday, and so these matches, along with the other finals, will be very exciting throughout,” she added.
