Jamaica's weather picture for the evening of July 6, 2026, remains shaped by a tropical wave sitting over the western Caribbean, where moisture keeps converging across open waters. Forecasters note a broad area of showers and thunderstorms stretching toward the southwestern Caribbean, while isolated storms earlier in the day affected sections of central parishes and scattered activity was reported over Cuba.

A lingering trough is expected to keep mid- to upper-level clouds over the eastern Caribbean and parts of the wider region through about Wednesday. Tonight, most of the island should see generally fair skies, with temperatures falling to around 26 degrees Celsius and easterly winds along both coasts averaging near five knots.

Tuesday morning will bring partly cloudy conditions to eastern sections, with fair weather elsewhere. By afternoon, one or two showers are possible over inland areas. Highs are forecast to reach 34 degrees Celsius in Kingston and 33 degrees Celsius in Montego Bay.

Radar trends point to partly cloudy and windy conditions across the southeast later in the day. Showers and thunderstorms are likely in the southwest, including Black River, Savannah-la-Mar, and Negril, with activity also possible around Duncans and Cave Valley. Inland areas and the northeast—including St Ann's Bay, Ocho Rios, Port Maria, and Port Antonio—should stay partly cloudy. Isolated showers are expected to continue through Tuesday, with partly cloudy afternoon conditions on Wednesday and Thursday.

For mariners, easterly winds along the north coast tomorrow are expected to average 15 knots, with wave heights near 1.5 metres. South-coast winds will blow east-southeasterly at 15 to 20 knots, with waves between 1.5 and 2 metres. A small craft warning remains in effect, with winds reaching 30 knots and wave heights reaching 3 metres. Through Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, easterly winds of 20 to 25 knots are forecast.
