Burnt Savannah stepfather charged with sexual abuse of 15-year-old and child pornography offences
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — A 29-year-old construction worker from Burnt Savannah District, St Elizabeth, has been arrested and charged in connection with alleged sexual offences against his stepdaughter.
Authorities are withholding the man's name to protect the victim. He faces five counts of sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 16, sexual touching of a child, possession of child pornography, and distribution of child pornography.
The victim is a 15-year-old student from the parish who was living with her mother, siblings, and the accused, her stepfather. Police say the alleged abuse occurred on multiple occasions between December 24, 2025, and June 7, 2026, while he knew she was under 16.
During one incident, investigators allege he used his mobile phone to record the act and later sent the video to the teenager's phone. Officers subsequently located and retrieved the footage.
The case was reported to the police, and a statement was taken implicating the accused. Following a targeted operation at his home, he was taken into custody, interviewed, and formally charged.
