A father and his son were discovered dead from apparent gunshot injuries inside a house in New Forest, Manchester, early Friday, with both men found with their hands tied. The double killing has unsettled people in the community.
Authorities had not formally named the victims up to the time of the report. However, The STAR understands that the younger man was an aspiring recording artiste who used the name "Fido".
According to reports, residents heard loud blasts about 12:15 a.m. and contacted the police. Officers later went to the premises, carried out a search and reportedly found the two men bound and suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
Both victims were declared dead at the location.
The killings have added to anxiety over violence in Manchester, where murders have risen sharply since the year began. Police figures show the division was investigating 14 murders up to May 31, compared with eight over the same period last year, a 75 per cent increase.
Crime scene personnel examined the location as detectives opened an investigation into the circumstances of the double murder.
