
Police Search for Gunmen After Fatal Laws Street Shooting in Kingston
Kingston Central Police are looking for a number of armed men after a shooting from a car on Laws Street killed one man and injured two others, among them a 79-year-old man.
Police say the gun attack happened about 9:25 on Saturday night. The man who died has been named as 35-year-old Cornelio Richards, also known as Bobby Dee. He was employed to Caribbean Cement Company.
A 21-year-old man and a 79-year-old retiree were also hit by bullets and have been admitted to hospital.
Reports are that several people were gathered on Laws Street, near Rosemary Lane and Maiden Lane, when a Honda Fit arrived. Men inside the vehicle allegedly fired on the crowd before leaving the scene.
After the shooting, three people were found with gunshot wounds. They were taken to hospital, where Richards was declared dead.
Investigators are checking information that Richards may have been the intended victim. The Kingston Central Police are also monitoring the community closely to guard against retaliatory violence.
