Half-Way Tree Police Detain Four After Human Rights Rally Near King's House

Officers attached to the Half-Way Tree Police Station took four men into custody on Monday following a demonstration held close to King's House.

Among those detained was Ambassador Luel Ras Mesfin Haile Selassie, who leads the Kingdom of Debre Zeit Human Rights Defenders. Spokespersons for the group said the protest and accompanying appeals were intended to spotlight conduct they believe runs counter to Jamaica's laws.
