A select crowd of patrons, journalists, influencers and invited guests filled AC Hotel Kingston on Wednesday for a press briefing and official rollout of Rich Rum, the newest Jamaican spirits label from Triple Gold Rums.
Through the evening programme, guests heard from company founder Christopher 'Chris' Gayle and Ian MacDonald, an alcohol industry consultant who is set to take over as chief executive officer. Both men outlined the thinking behind the brand and how it plans to compete in the premium rum segment.
The occasion also marked entertainer Tanto Blacks' appointment as the label's first official ambassador. Organisers used the night to present three flagship expressions: Rich Rum Overproof, Rich Rum Premium and Rich Rum Dark.
